How Motor Flow works

Most dealerships are selling operations. Motor Flow is a buying operation. Almost everything that makes a car a good deal is decided before it ever reaches a customer, and that's where the fifteen years go.

Four ways in

Good stock doesn't come from one place. We buy through four channels, built on relationships that took years to earn.

01

The franchise dealer network

Long-standing relationships with main dealers, who move trade-ins they don't want to retail themselves.

02

Ex-lease vehicles

Fleet-maintained, documented, and usually better looked after than a private car of the same age.

03

Private sellers

People who'd rather deal with someone straight than take their chances online.

04

Liquidation firms

Assets being disposed of, often at short notice, where being able to move quickly is the whole advantage.

Four channels means we're never forced to buy badly because we need stock on the ground.

Client testimonial

“I'd been in the market for a Ute for 6 months, wanting a full service history and a D-max with a really mint interior. The whole transaction with Adam was simple and easy, he arranged competitive finance, better than what I'd been quoted at actual dealerships, and had parking ready for me at his Princes street location.”

Every car, before it's listed

By the time a car appears on our stock page, the work is already done and paid for. That's the difference between a price and a real price.

01

Assessed

Condition, history, credentials, market. If it doesn't stack up, we don't buy it.

02

Serviced

Completed before sale, so there's nothing due when you take it.

03

Reconditioned

Panel, paint and a full groom, to a standard we'd be happy to hand over in person, because we are handing it over in person.

04

WOF'd

Most cars come with a brand new WOF.

Why the numbers work

Two reasons, and neither of them is cutting corners.

01

Buying

Fifteen years of relationships means we buy better than someone walking into the same deal cold.

02

Overheads

No yard, no showroom, no sales floor, no team to carry. A dealership's costs have to come out of the cars it sells. Ours barely exist, so there's less to recover, and the difference sits in the price rather than in the building.

Finance and protection

Finance, warranty and insurance are arranged through Krystal at Armstrong's Finance, working with Marac, UDC and Provident. It's handled properly by someone who does it full time, rather than added on at the last minute.

Buying from anywhere in New Zealand

A good number of our customers buy without seeing the car in person. That works because of what's already been done to it, and because we'll tell you what's wrong with a vehicle as readily as what's right.

We arrange transport nationwide and can quote delivery to your door. We've shipped as far as Tonga and the Chatham Islands, so the mainland isn't a problem.

We move quickly

Being small means decisions don't wait for anyone. If you're ready in the evening, we're ready in the evening. Cars have been sold at 10pm, had the extras fitted the next day and been delivered on the Saturday morning.

That isn't a boast about working hard. It's what happens when there's no process between you and the person who owns the business.
